Hello,

I'm Jes, with one s, professional photographer and owner of BleuDress Photography.  My style is a direct reflection of my personality; fun, colorful, and dynamic.

I am a portrait photographer passionate about preserving moments and producing art that you will cherish for years to come and pass down from generation to generation. I thrive on bringing out the true spirit of the client in every session. My goal is to make this process fun, relaxed, and enjoyable for all involved!

I photograph a wide variety of portraits--from senior pictures to family portraits, milestones to lifestyle shots. I am not afraid to try something new and will gladly experiment with and brainstorm any ideas you might have to help you create the story you want to tell.

Why BleuDress?  That's the question I get most often.  Here's the backstory.

  • Blue Dress is a song by one of my favorite artists, Ernie Halter.
  • Another love of mine is hockey and as an ode to French Canada where the NHL originated, I spelled blue bleu (a decision that makes me cringe daily).
  • It rhymes with my name, which is how I decided on my social media identity, BleuDressJes.
  • As I mentioned above, my husband was in the US Army for 8 years and I used to maintain a blog to track our military adventures; I titled that blog Bleu Dress and Dress Blues (I thought I was super clever).
  • I decided to keep things consistent and name my business after it.

The details

I'm likely to show up to a session with Starbucks in hand and 90s music playing a little too loud in my car.

Traveling refreshes and energizes my soul.  I've been to all but a handful of the United States and I'm trying to experience as many countries as possible.  I lived in Japan for 3 years and left a huge chunk of my heart there.

I love my family.  Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky to have the family I have.  Biological, by marriage, my military family.  All of them.  I'm blessed.

Things I like - Volunteering, hockey, live music, traveling, Crossfit, hiking, camping, trying new restaurants, spending time with my nieces and nephew, sushi, Thanksgiving, event planning, my tribe, birthdays, puppies

Things I don't like - Blue cheese, cats, winter, inconsiderate people, running, Mexican food, basketball, chocolate (GASP!), traffic
